Yeah, I did it. =_=

Taken from everybodygoddamnit (0_lostinabook_0).

Go through the list and check off the titles you have watched. For our purposes, "watching" a title means that for TV and OVA series, you have to have seen at least one episode. For one-shots, you have to have seen the whole thing. At the end of each genre/category, add up your sub-total. At the very end, add up the sub-totals to come up with your grand total. If your grand total is 80 or over, congratulations -- you are an obsessive anime watcher!

An Editor's Note: not all the titles listed here are great, and some are even steaming piles of crap. Titles on the list are here because they are either 1) genuinely good, 2) insanely popular, 3) good examples of the genre, or 4) just plain notorious. Good anime obsessives should be able to watch series with any of those qualities.

Action and Adventure
(x) .hack//SIGN
( ) Airmaster
( ) Battle Arena Toshinden
(x) Bleach
( ) Blood+
(x) Burst Angel (the first ep. at a con)
( ) City Hunter
(x) Cowboy Bebop
(x) Dragonball (I'd wait around for the epic final battles :\)
( ) Flame of Recca
( ) GetBackers
(x) Inuyasha
(x) Lupin III (any)
( ) Mai-HiME
(x) Naruto (:P)
(x) One Piece (HELLZ YEAH \o/)
( ) Tenjou Tenge
( ) TRIGUN (I've seen this one, just not a full ep.)
(x) Saiyuki
(x) Yu Yu Hakusho
Total Here: 11/20

II. I never knew a lot about him, but any Broadway music is welcome. Turns out that it wasn't just going to be melodies, there were three Broadway actors there to sing the parts.

This was Rachel York, Doug LeBrecque. and Christane Noll OMG the original Emma from Jekyll and Hyde. Σ(゜д゜;) And I was in row frickin' ten people. That woman has skillz, even when extremely preggers. I was floored.

Now, I think i might be a little obsessed with this musical thanks to this girl's videos.

<lj-embed id="112" />

Also, any "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" fans in the house? :)
<lj-embed id="113" />

It's all supposed to be in past tense, almost like they're memories being replayed, so if there are any mistakes concerning tense in general let me know.

I also struggled with tying not to repeat words or phrases too much. (Writing without mentioning names is torture. Not to mention I was trying to give personalities to people who we know little about and who cannonly have two dimesional personalities. -_-;

Misspellings? OOC behavior? Don't hesitate to point them out ^-^)

“Princesses really shouldn’t cry. They have nothing to be sad about.”

………..

The first time they had spoken, he had threatened her.

He’d told her to stay away from the prince, and that she hardly had any business attempting to be close to him. She’d been slightly taken aback and hadn’t quite known how to respond. He gave her a queer feeling, a sort of blend of reproach and unpleasant surprise. She’d never felt anything like that before.
He’d swept away into the shadows before she could offer any sort of retort.

This was how they’d met. As far as she’d been concerned, she’d rather have nothing more to do with him. She’d done nothing wrong. What kind of person must he be if he was so cold and dismissive to someone he’d never met before? He was nothing like the prince, who looked upon everything with gentleness and only regarded people with the utmost courtesy. That’s what had drawn her to him in the first place.

So naturally, she discarded the warning, and continued to watch her prince from the trees.

The prince had spent most of his time around the castle grounds, but occasionally he would come and rest on the banks of the lake settled nearby in the woods. This was the only time she could get close to him, for he rarely accompanied.

Sometimes he would sit in a placid silence; brushing the tips of the grass with his fingers, staring up lazily at the clouds visible through the treetops. On other occasions, however, he would dance. He was beautiful when he danced; his movements gentle, his turns precise, the epitome of grace. She would watch, and she would wish, hard, that one day he would not be dancing alone. That she could stand at his side, winding her own dance with his, until they were moving as one; joined in an intimate pas de deux.

She’d only reviled herself on a few occasions, often disguised as a swan, paddling up to him from the center of the lake. Those times, he would grace her with that gentle smile, holding out his hand to her as if to ask, “Will you join me?” Her heart would throb painfully, and it took all of her restraint not to burst from her feathered form and straight into his arms.

It was different when he caught a glimpse of her as a human. She had to duck away into the bushes before he could get a good look at her. And yet, she would always come creeping back, waiting until he’d resumed his dance.
……………

And he was always there, watching, waiting, and guarding the golden-eyed prince. With only one look he could send her backpedaling deeper into the forest, somehow making her feel embarrassed that she’d attempted to get so close.

She hated him for it. She’d never hated before, but she’d assumed that what she felt must be close to the emotion. True, he protected her love from harm, for which she was grateful. But as a whole he repelled her. His tone was too curt; his cold black eyes looked beyond her rather than at her, as if he didn’t find her worthy enough to meet her gaze. She didn’t like his superior air and his immediate dismissal of her even less.

The less they came in contact, the better.

But they did come in contact. The prince was honorable and brave, but this held a certain disadvantage. He cared, but perhaps too much; whatever the crisis, he would be the first to offer his aid, sometimes foolhardily. Any task as small as protecting a chick from a hungry fox to diving head first into the river to save an unlucky young squirrel who had fallen in and been carried away by the fast rushing waters. On several occasions he’d nearly fallen out of one of the palace windows for any number of reasons.

And they were there. Every time he willingly placed himself in danger, they were close behind to protect him from it. He would usually reach the prince first, but there were times when he hadn’t reacted quickly enough, and she was able to rush to her love’s aid. (Usually sending one of her attendants or working her own magic on the plants to catch him.) She’d been relieved and pleased she’d been able to help him. And even though she knew this would only further arouse the suspicions of the other one, she could help but feel a small bit of triumph at seeing his grimace of disapproval of her actions afterwards.

For one short moment, he was forced to acknowledge her as something other than a fleeting annoyance.

……

The second time they’d spoken, he had rescued her.

It was during a ball the queen had held for the beloved prince on his birthday. The entire kingdom had been invited to the celebration, which the citizens had proclaimed to be the greatest party of it’s kind to ever be held before. Most importantly, it was rumored that from the guests the prince might choose a bride.

That had been too tempting an offer for her to ignore.

Her handmaidens had protested. They were becoming concerned over her attachment to the prince, and were convinced that the ordeal would only end in heartache for their princess. Although she valued their opinions and worry for her, she’d refused to pass up the opportunity.

She’d donned a hooded cape and slipped into the palace grounds, merging with the crowd that was slowly filing through the huge doors that stood open at the castle’s entrance.

It had been stunning. The high walls were decorated with huge tapestries depicting members of the royal family, with garlands of flowers and ribbon looped across the top of them. Long tables dressed with white and gold cloth held dish upon dishes of food, with great blocks of ice carved to resemble swans in various stages of flight.

Everything seemed to shine brilliantly under the glow of the hundreds of candles lit in the massive chandelier hanging from the ceiling and the cool crisp light of the full moon through the tall windows that took up half of the walls. The room smelt of freshly fallen snow, roses, and the light fragrance of peppermint tea.

She’d stopped walking for a moment to take in the magnificent sight, and had been bumped into by a few people entering behind her. Startled, she’d scurried into the ballroom and ducked behind one of the winding pillars, peaking out and scanning the mass of people for the guest of honor.

And there he’d been, hardly two feet away from her. Dressed completely in white and black-a color that's dark themes normally might not have suited him-, his soft eyes glowing a warm striking gold in the candlelight. She’d been in awe, watching him smile graciously at his guests, bowing to kiss the hands of the young eligible maidens who’d attended. She felt a sudden urgency, grasping her own handed wishing briefly that she could be the one standing before him, hand outstretching to be gently taken in his own, slowly pulling it towards his waiting lips…

She’d blushed lightly, shaking her head to rid herself of the selfish thought. Just being there, being so close to him had been good enough.

And all too suddenly, the music had started up. Dancers mingled around the floor trying to find a partner as the musicians began to play a slow waltz. She’d looked back to where her prince was standing and saw him glancing around at his shuffling guests. He’d paused for a moment before turning, his gaze landing on her. She’d felt a sudden jolt, making her back snap straight. Her hood had fallen, and she could feel the heat rising in her face.

Their eyes had met. For that moment, everything melted away. They were alone, simply looking at each other in innocent surprise and curiosity. He’d blinked, taking in her form, and a look that might have been recognition shown briefly in his eyes. He’d slowly begun to take a step towards her.

Suddenly, someone behind him called to the prince. He’d turned at the sound of his name; their gaze was broken, the moment ended.

Before he could turn back around, she’d hurried to conceal herself behind the pillar once more. She’d brought a hand to her face, staring disoriented at her trembling fingertips. What was she doing there? What had she been thinking? How could she have been so foolish to-?

She’d peered cautiously back around the pillar, taking care not to be seen by the other guests. He’d moved closer to on of the long banquet tables and was engaged in a conversation with a beautiful woman; also completely in white whose long lashes barely lifted from their resting place on her high pale cheeks. Her fan had covered the lower half of her face, making it impossible to tell the nature of her talk with the prince.

There’d been a faint step behind her, and before she could turn, he’d grabbed her wrist and spun her to face him. It’d occurred to her that she hadn’t seen him that night, and wondered vaguely if he had kept to the shadows to keep watch for unwanted guests or suspicious activity. (And fortunately it seemed she’d qualified for both.) She’d looked up into those deep black eyes, fixed into a cool glare she’d come to recognize as one reserved especially for her, and felt something squeeze her heart unpleasantly. In just standing, looking into his angered expression with a matched defiance, she’d felt that same uneasy repulsion that she’d never felt for anything else. When he’d spoken, demanding her purpose for being there-although he’d probably already made a decent guess- the feeling had flared in it’s place at the base of her stomach.

She’d straightened, squaring her shoulders and tried to look every bit the dignified noble woman, even as his grip tightened on her arm. Although she had snuck into the event, she’d refused to allow him to treat her as if she was some common thief just caught pick-pocketing-scum beneath his boots. The common battle for dominance they always engaged in was one of the things that made her so uncomfortable around him.

Her struggle had been cut short. They’d been arguing quietly with each other, trying not to call attention to themselves so as not to disrupt the other guests, and she’d been so annoyed with the older boy she hadn’t noticed when his eyes had suddenly sharpened and his head turned away from her to look towards the window just behind them. She’d been about to offer a retort when that very window had shattered. Before she’d known what was happening, he’d pulled her around to the side of the pillar, holding her tight to his chest and covering them both with his cape to protect them from incoming shards of glass.

She’d been so alarmed she couldn’t even find her voice to let out a cry of surprise. She’d only watched, wide eyed, as what must have been an even hundred ravens tear through the open window and swarm the dance floor. They were coming in from all directions, shattering nearly every window in the ballroom. They seemed to swoop up in one inky mass of feathers before descending upon the terrified guests.

The group who had crashed through that first window had immediately soared towards the two of them still standing under the protection of his cape. She’d been rooted to the spot, clutching fearfully at his vest before she’d realized what she was doing.

They’d bore down on them, sharp dangerous claws extended, only to have their legs hacked off a split second later by his sword.

Before she'd even registered he'd left her, he'd become a black blur darting among the flock of screeching birds, slashing at as many that dared too get close. She’d heard something crash behind her, the shouts of the guards and knights fending off the swarm mixed with screams and footsteps of people trying to rush out of the room all at once. Her feet had still refused to move.

A particularly nasty looking raven had given a piercing screech and dove at her, red eyes flashing. She’d finally found her voice and let out a strangled cry. She’d thought she’d heard someone’s voice roar over the noise, “No-stay away from her!”

Then darkness had overtaken her vision.

He’d jumped in front of her just in time, but not quickly enough to avoid having the bird’s claws slice his right shoulder. Before the bird could swoop down for a second attack, he’d spun and cut it cleanly in two.

Time seemed to stop for a moment. She’d wondered at the sight of him, standing with the tip of his sword still balanced in mid air from where he’d killed the raven while lightly clutching the area the bird’s claws had nicked him, his hair falling in his face and a glint in his eye coupled with a hard, proud expression; her most unlikely savior.

Then something had hit the pillar she’d been leaning against, making it crack, and time was suddenly moving again.

She’d stumbled away from the collapsing pillar, only to have him grab her arm and jerk her in the other direction. Seconds later a huge chuck of the stone had fallen just where she had been previously standing.

He’d turned her to face him, using his free hand to pull up the hood of her cloak. He’d told her to run.

She had tried to protest, eyeing his shoulder with concern etched on her face, but a new wave of ravens were descending upon them once again. He’d raised his sword, killing four of them with one swing. “Go.” He’d insisted over his shoulder. And then when she still hadn’t moved, “Now!”

And she’d run.

……….

The third time they’d spoken, he’d left her.

The war had begun. Daily the prince’s citizens were attacked by ravens, clawing out their eyes and hair as their leader attempted to locate the sole person with the purest heart he could consume.

At first, only the humans were affected by the outbreak, but soon even the surrounding animals of the kingdom were targets. Even she had never believed they’d get as far as the lake, and yet it felt as though day by day she and her hand maidens were pushed back farther and farther, closer to the lake’s opposite bank. This had left little time to check up on her beloved prince, but she slipped away when she could, and kept an ear open for any new information.

Due to the raven’s assault, the prince and his mother as well as those inhabiting the castle had been driven out. They, like many others, had spent their time camping in the castles grounds, helping keep the violence under control. They fought when they could, but it seemed the more the prince displayed his bravery and devotion to his people, the more the attacks concentrated on those close to him.

After her maidens would finish telling her the latest news of the prince and his traveling party, she would inwardly battle with herself before relenting and asking the other question that burned at the back of her mind.

And every time they would assure her that yes, he, it seemed, was still alive. In her reaction she tried to keep her voice casual and expression steady, even though the hands that had previously been clenched so tightly the knuckles had whitened had visibly relaxed.

She’d wondered when those feelings of uneasiness and repulsion and turned to concern.

She’d tried to put it out of her mind, tried to focus on her frightened charges and the prince and the day-to-day battles fought with the terror inducing birds that were constantly lurking in the shadows. And she’d convinced herself that her only worry for him was that he would be around to protect her prince with her so preoccupied.

As usual, he left her with a muddling of emotions that she could not decipher. And she chose to hate him for it.
.................

She’d been flying through the trees, her maidens close behind when she’d spotted the prince. The sight of him caused her to stop momentarily. And a split second later the land had been incased in darkness. The monster raven himself had risen from the forest, high into the sky and spread his wigs wide enough to cover the whole of the castle’s grounds. All at once his ravens lower on the ground had flown up to hover in an ominous mass over the treetops. Her group had dipped as one into the lower levels of the wood, hoping the trees would help to conceal them. They’d dropped from they’re swan forms so they could move more easily on the ground.

There’d been movement up ahead. They’d continued quickly through the undergrowth until they’d broken into a clearing, nearly colliding with another traveling party. Cloaked men with heavy boots were before them. For a moment the group of women had been too startled to move. Then a cry from the monster raven above them sent the men hurtling off in the opposite direction.

Save for two.

She’d known he’d become aware of her presence. Even as he was deep in conversation with the prince, he’d shifted to block her from view. From the way they’d been looking at each other, the topic of their discussion wasn’t something the prince was entirely pleased with.

Finally, after fixing him with a long hesitant look, the prince followed in the direction his men had previously taken.

Only after he’d disappeared though the trees did she approach him.

He’d been filthy. She wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d told her he’d been rolling around in the dirt that had long replaced the rich grass that coated the forest since the ravens had arrived. He’d been thinner too, or as much as she could tell from the way his cape hung from his frame.

He’d looked so tired.

The following conversation between them had turned into more of a one-sided argument. He’d explained, with unnerving calm, that he was going to fight the raven. That day. Alone.

She’d shouted at him-another first in her life time-telling him that he was reckless, begging him to seek the prince’s help, or at least one of the knights. But he’d told her that the raven, after scavenging their land, had come to the decision that it was the prince’s heart he most desired. He had to protect his prince, whatever the cost.

Although she’d completely understood this, she’d still felt anxiety over his choice. She’d kept insisting that he might fall, that he may die for his efforts leaving the prince wide open for an attack.
He’d only tilted his head, fixing her with a slightly bemused expression and asked, wouldn’t she be there to take his place, as always?

She hadn’t known whether to hit him or burst into tears. How, could someone like him be saying such things to her? He was so strong, confident, enduring. He would take on any challenge with unwavering confidence and emerge from the battle without a scratch. Why had he sounded so solemn, like something was coming to an end, like he was giving up?

She would have stayed, quite possibly to literally beat some sense into him. But her handmaidens had been pulling her away, insisting that the air had changed and it couldn’t possibly be safe for her to stay in one place.

She’d barley heard his last words to her, assuring that they’d see one another again (although the tone of the promise was more grieved then comforting.)

Her last words to him might have been something close to a warning; but all she’d recall of the night was simply shouting his name over and over again above the rush of wind that parted the treetops into a clear open stage for his final act.

He’d never landed a single blow, and had been cleaved from his shoulder to his waist in the flash of a huge razor claw. Over the triumphant laughter of the monster raven, coupled with the mocking calls of his underlings and dismayed outraged cries of the prince and onlookers, it had been nearly impossible to make out upon impact the single high scream of utter despair that emitted from the clearing below.

Later, when the knights went to recover his body, they’d found it carefully wrapped in his cape, his sword sheathed and resting against his chest.

……….

She’d felt an odd sort of numbing sensation. Her handmaidens begged her to leave, to forget about her prince and flee the country while she could still remain safe. With his death the attacks had surged on more then ever with more and more dying ever day. The monster raven was relentless in his quest and refused to end until the prince’s heart had been surrendered to him.

The prince, in response to the murder of his most dear and trusted friend, had flown into a rage and ruthlessly met every wave of attack the raven cast towards him. (She was chagrined to find that she was not the only one whom he could force to act completely out of character, even when dead.)

She hadn’t seen any reason to run; she’d failed him. Both of them. She’d felt that she might now understand that look he’d had in his eyes-that defeated way he’d spoken.

In truth, they were far more alike then she had ever imagined. Both had fought without any concern for their own well being to protect the prince. They had done everything possible to make sure no harm came to him. And yet, here they were; him dead and her broken, the kingdom-her home- falling around her feet, and that cherished prince rushing headlong into the raven's talons without anyone able to shield him from them.

They had both failed to do anything to fight for and protect their most precious person. There was nothing left to do.

When she’d next run into her love, he’d been battling a flock of the murderous birds.

She hadn’t bothered to disguise her actions, instead openly twirling a pillar of vines into existence to help him reach his attackers while blocking those she could with her own fans.

Once they’d been killed he’d looked at her- blinking as if he couldn’t quite convince himself of her really being there. He’d tried to make his mouth form the question that shown so clearly in his eyes.

But she’d become tired, so very tired. And seeing him there before her- in torn cloths and dirt smudged on his face trying to make words out of the incoherent sounds emitting from his lips and looking at her with such wonder, the boy that she would give anything for, whom she loved-

Tears had begun to blur her vision. Her mind teased with slips of memories of what had been; of clear lakes and graceful figures waltzing and quite summer afternoons in the castle's court yard watching the prince and his men practice swordplay...and a constant shadowy figure who was always close by, a warning and reassurance at the same time.

The things she could never get back.

She’d moved towards him with a wistful sad smile, and lightly rested her hands on his shoulders.
Though her tears, she’d whispered a gentle apology; a hope that someday, she could help him where she had failed before.

With out looking up, she’d told him the one thing she’d been forbidden to speak allowed.

Right before she vanished, she’d smiled at his bewildered expression-wondering if he’d even heard her confession-and for a moment she thought she could see him standing there as well; all shadow and mystery with those sharp dark eyes, just as she’d remembered him. And she’d prayed that, somehow, they might be able to keep their promises.

All of them.

………….

“I hope one day, I can stand beside you, and aid you in the way that you deserve.”

~Owari~

(End notes:
Soundtrack is as follows:
Tutu ponders Lohengrin "first meeting": Mozart: Piano Concerto #20 In D Minor, K 466 - 2.
Classical MPR is my budd right now ^-^

I stay up listening to it at 12 am and how do they reward me? By playing The Nutcracker: Act 1. Yeah, I was too psyched to go to sleep.

Okay holiday fans!

What are your fondest memories of this time of year? Opening those gifts that were taunting you from under your tree for the past three weeks?

No!

It was the movies. Those christmas specials that with out fail graced our televisions and VCRs every year. (Oh, my god VCRs. Who still has one?)

You all knew it was commin'! So sit back, relax, and when this is all over we'll see if you still have time to run out and rent these before the holiday is through. (Note: Sorry if there isn't a clip on here from a movie you wanted to see, but youtube only had so many of these specials.)

Hit it!

From All of Us
<lj-embed id="55" />

We'll stick with Disney for a moment. Or nine.

Jingle Bells
<lj-embed id="56" />

This was on the Christmas sing along tape. Have you ever paid attention to the lyrics of this song? They're weird. o_o

The Night Before Christmas
<lj-embed id="57" />

This segment always freaked me out. I can't really tell you why. Maybe it was Santa's laugh...

Pluto's Christmas Tree
<lj-embed id="58" />

It's a whole cartoon kids! :D Micky's voice has always sounded odd, but never so much as in this holiday classic.
Heh, everyone can sing but Donald. ...and Pluto.

As Long As There's Christmas
<lj-embed id="59" />

I know. I know I know I know. This movie does not exist! But the song is damn catchy, so it's going up.

The Steadfast Tin Soldier
<lj-embed id="102" />

I don't know why I consider this christmas-ish, but it puts me in the mood every time. ^-^ (So cuuuuuute~~)

Peter And The Wolf Pt. 1
<lj-embed id="60" />

Pt. 2
<lj-embed id="61" />

My absolute favorite. I remember watching this every year. (Although it wasn't always the Disney version. But the Disney one is arguably the funniest.) Not the duck! Not the duck! XD

The Forest of No Return
<lj-embed id="62" />

It speaks for itself. I had the VHS of this forever. It's the Disney version of Babes in Toyland. Sorry I couldn't find a clip using the title song. (No, I will not post the Keanu Reeves version >:/)

Just A Toy
<lj-embed id="63" />

This one's a little more Christmasy.

Always Come Back To You
<lj-embed id="64" />

I'm told many of you have seen this movie. I hope I didn't disappoint with the song. ^^;(I need to watch this movie now. There's actually a really cute animated version of the story I saw recently on youtube. It was Russian o.o See if you can find it ^-^)

The Nutcracker Prince Pas De Duex
<lj-embed id="65" />

Sorry Youtube killed the quality >.<

Okay, bring on the claymation. All of these movies were made by the same people. Rankin & Bass made tons of stop motion holiday movies back in the day. It got to the point that they started running out of plots and had to come up with some really weird ones, like "Nestor:The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey" "Pinocchio's Christmas" and "The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold". Yeah, shit got weird. Lets look at some of their more famous works.

Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer
<lj-embed id="66" />

Freak.

Frosty The Snowman
<lj-embed id="67" />

The Year Without A Santa Claus
<lj-embed id="68" />

Mickey Rooney?! :o

The "Miser" Songs
<lj-embed id="69" />

This was a favorite claymation movie, maybe because of these songs. (Wow those brothers are real original. Couldn't even come up with different tunes for their songs...)

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
<lj-embed id="70" />

This is my second favorite ^-^ (Damn kids can't spell.)

Put One Foot In Front Of The Other
<lj-embed id="71" />

Just What I Always Wanted
<lj-embed id="72" />

Only one I could find for this one....poor Jack Frost.

Christmas Don't Be Late
<lj-embed id="73" />

Christmas Time Is Here
<lj-embed id="74" />

The most depressing Christmas song ever. No lie.

You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch
<lj-embed id="75" />

It's sung by a white guy. :o :D

Welcome Christmas
<lj-embed id="76" />

Don't it just make you tear up every time? *sniff*

Where Are You Christmas?
<lj-embed id="77" />

...I like the song, okay? ¬3¬

The Snowman Pt. 1
<lj-embed id="78" />

Oh come on, tell me you didn't see this once. Tell me. You can't because you have!

Pt. 2
<lj-embed id="79" />

Pt. 3
<lj-embed id="80" />

Take that Frosty.

Annabelle's Wish Trailer
<lj-embed id="81" />

Found the trailer at least. It's just as cracky as it looks. (I mean, his name's Billy for god sake.)

Now you all knew this was commin'.

What's This?
<lj-embed id="82" />

Town Meeting Song
<lj-embed id="83" />

Something's Up With Jack
<lj-embed id="84" />

Kidnap The Sandy Claws
<lj-embed id="85" />

Making Christmas
<lj-embed id="86" />

Olive The Other Reindeer
<lj-embed id="87" />

Yup, that's Drew Barrymore. Check out the rest when you get a chance! It's cute.

When Christmas Comes To Town
<lj-embed id="88" />

This here's a instant classic. This movie is so cute, truly. <strike>But how did they avoid falling off that train so many time? And see the small one? I call him Dewey.</strike>

Here's a longer version of the song:

<lj-embed id="89" />

Believe
<lj-embed id="90" />

That's a tune that'll be stuck in your head long after the movie's over. Some say Josh Groban was created only to sing christmas songs...like some kinda Christmas robot. o.o <strike>Some one check for batteries.</strike>

A Gift Of Gold
<lj-embed id="91" />

The best damn little holiday cartoon ever. No contest. (How can you argue with Pooh?)

Here Comes Mr. Scrooge
<lj-embed id="92" />

Marley and Marley
<lj-embed id="93" />

When Love Is Gone
<lj-embed id="94" />

It Feels Like Christmas
<lj-embed id="95" />

Bless Us One And All
<lj-embed id="96" />

And now the single greatest colab of Jim Henson puppets ever caught on tape.

The Muppet Family Christmas Pt. 1
<lj-embed id="97" />

Pt. 2
<lj-embed id="98" />

Pt. 3
<lj-embed id="99" />

Pt. 4
<lj-embed id="100" />

Pt. 5
<lj-embed id="101" />

Well folks, that's all for this year! I hope you all have a very merry and safe holiday! And look forward to parts 3 and 4 of Remember when...?

Until next year!~

    <lj:music>The Wind In The Willows-We're Merrily On Our Way(?)</lj:music>

Okay, so I was going to the library today to find a recording of The Nutcracker to listen to for the month, and I'd just finished putting my hair up; when I looked in the mirror, I had Fakir's hair style o_o. For serious. W. T. F?

...alright alright, here you go. (freeloaders ¬_¬)

By popular request, It's more nostalgia then ya'll can handle.

We're Merrily On Our Way
<lj-embed id="37" />

(I do remember being scared out of my trousers by this movie. Don't know why, maybe it was the art?)

In the last installment , I talked primarily about the work of Don Bluth and James Horner. Well, those guys have gone on to bigger an better things. But you guys wanted more, so I'm bringing you more! Lucky you.

Before you ask, yes, this time around Disney movies will be mixed in throughout the next few entries. But not the uber popular ones, or the crappy sequels-that-shall-not-be-named-because-they-don't-exist.

Well, since we've already got toad up there,

Ichabod Crane
<lj-embed id="38" />

Been a while Ichabod-not-Johnny-Depp-Crane. And boy, is that Ol' Bing Crosby? *whistles*

Yes, the super olden times Disney. Wow man, wow.

Oh look! Don Bluth films that weren't mentioned in the last entry! Let's Kick this off with them, shall we?

Sun Do Shine
<lj-embed id="39" />

Fact: Out of all Don Bluth's films, I have never seen Rock-A-Doodle. Therefor, only this song goes up for it. Some of you may object, and if there are more memorable songs from the film people remember out there, do tell, 'cause I got nothin'.

Let Me Be Surprised
<lj-embed id="40" />

Charlie's a bit slow, hm?

Let's Make Music Together
<lj-embed id="41" />

o_o...What, what the hell did we just see? No really, what is with this movie? Christ.

Love Survives
<lj-embed id="42" />

Okay, I don't remember this song much, but, you know, played out of respect to the original voice actress for Anne-marie. (Speaking role only.) RIP Judith Barsi.

Now And Forever
<lj-embed id="43" />

But hell yeah I remember this one! Cracktastic (Seriously, will someone tell me why that penguin has teeth?), with the likes of Martian Short as Hubie. The songs were partially written by none other then Berry Manilow. (Who, by the way, also did the ones for Thumbelina.) And may I just say I've never heard anything like Annie Golden's. (Marina) (Extra: At this time, may I also pimp neko_no_hanashi's Princess Tutu AMV for the song? Pwnsome I assure. ---> Link link link. And hopefully this will encourage her to do videos for the other songs? Y/y? ( ﾟ ヮﾟ)b)

Yeah, get ready for an orgy of Pebbles and Penguins.

Sometimes I Wonder
<lj-embed id="44" />

Good Ship Misery
<lj-embed id="45" />

It Looks Like I Got Me A Friend
<lj-embed id="46" />

No really neko_no_hanashi, I need a Fakir/Mytho video with this song. Please?

Don't Make Me Laugh
<lj-embed id="47" />

Heeeey Tim Curry. Was he, like, every villain in the 90s?

Absolutely Green
<lj-embed id="48" />

T-tiger? No, it's Dom DeLuise! :D

Queen Of Mean
<lj-embed id="49" />

You know, I'm beginning to think she's not very nice...(<strike>Oh no SHIT sherlock.</strike>)

And now for something completely different (but not quite). (BTW Sorry for the crappy quality, but this is the only good video of the song I could find.)

There's A Spark Inside Us
<lj-embed id="50" />

Please tell me I wasn't the only one who saw this movie. Please. No, it's not a Bluth film.

Yes kiddies, it's the mother f*ckin' "Princess and the Goblin"! The guy singing is named Curdy, (Seriously.) and his legs are freakishly long. Yes.

Spark Inside Us (Reprise) (Warning: Spoilers for the ending ahead!)
<lj-embed id="51" />

Want to know more about the movie? Comment and ask! ^-^

Okay, goddamn I'm done. Don't fret now pets, there will be atleast two more of these journals coming up, "Remember when...? Pt.s 3&4". I've already made a list of what ones I want for the next set. Until next time!!! *waves*

Also:

Attention flist! Going down memory lane is rather fun, wouldn't you agree? I was hoping to do another one of these for the holiday season! So, what I need are suggestions.

Got a nostalgic christmas/holiday movie you loved back in the day? Did it have particularly memorable songs? Comment with the movie(s) and it may be deemed worthy to be featured in, "Remember when...?: Holiday edition!" Look forward to it! ^-^

    <lj:music>THe Pagemaster OST-Opening Credits</lj:music>

Okay Folks.

I know there's some 80s and 90s kids out there who remember the true epicness that were some of those non disney films of the 80/90s. I came across a song from my past, and it lead me to dig up the composer of the song. Turns out the guy was responsible for many of those musical scores I know so well.

Lets take some time to reflect, look back on the movies and music that had so much of an impact on <strike>me</strike> some of us. (No, this is not me just geeking out over childhood cartoons. Shut up!)

(Seriously, I know some of you guys remember/cried at/still cry during these. Fess up.)

The Pagemaster Opening
<lj-embed id="18" />

Yeah, is it all coming back to you?

There's more to see~...Common kids, it's learnin' time!

Okay, so most (but not all) of the movies on this list are done by the same director, Don Bluth. You know, the guy who loved to depress us back in the day.

But more important is the dude behind the scenes, making the music. That man's name is James Horner. He. Did. All of them. (Or so it feels.) Mr. Horner composed many of the touching songs that we remember, and went on to compose many other movie soundtracks. His name sound familiar? It should, he went on to do the soundtracks for Field of Dreams, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Titanic, and many more. Wikipedia his name to find out more about his work, you'll be surprised what you find.

On to the videos!

Somewhere out there
<lj-embed id="19" />

Ahh yes, I remember it well. There are many pwnsome songs from the two American Tail movies, but I'll just post the big hitters.

Dreams to dream
<lj-embed id="20" />

There are no cats in America
<lj-embed id="21" />

Ohhh, yes there are. Yes there are you poor fools.

Never say never
<lj-embed id="22" />

Yup. Loved these songs. *sigh*

Another much loved classic. Here's the movie version, and the credits full song. These weren't JamesHorner songs, but are very worth mentioning. (These movies sure had some nightmare fuel, huh?)

Flying dreams (lullaby)
<lj-embed id="23" />

Flying dreams (credit song)
<lj-embed id="24" />

For these next two, I'll post the easily recognizable end theme music and song that plays directly after it.

Land Before Time (credit music)
<lj-embed id="25" />

If we go on together
<lj-embed id="26" />

*sniff* Now these ones are the tear jerkers for me. No lie. (Is it because they played this music when Littlefoot's mom died? That was just as bad, if not worse, then Bambi's mom in my humble opinion.)

Roll back the clock
<lj-embed id="27" />

The hell? This totally ruined the mood. *pout* This is the only part many of us remember from this movie.

Please wake up
<lj-embed id="28" />

And the sad is back! Yeaaaah, remember the freaky owl in this movie? Still gives me the hebbie jebbies. That's Michael Crawford of The Phantom of the Opera fame singing. Like I knew that back in the day. (And as a side note: Sorry, I couldn't find a video for the "He's Back!" song. But that was a fun one.)

Okay, so for the next few videos, had a really hard time deciding on what songs to use, because they're all so recognizable. So...I did all of them :D. <strike>Yeaaaaah don't kill me.</strike>

Thumbalina
<lj-embed id="29" />

Soon
<lj-embed id="30" />

Let me be your wings
<lj-embed id="31" />

Marry the mole
<lj-embed id="32" />

Carol Channing as Ms. Fieldmouse. If you don't know who she is...well aren't you just missing out?

Follow Your Heart
<lj-embed id="36" />

¬_¬ Goddam useless swallows will sing at you, but fly you home? Noooooo.

*phew* That's a lot of nostalgia! And I'm afraid that's all I had time for today. If I missed one, discuss!

Hope it brightened your day and brought you back to a simpler time. Sorry for such a long post, and until next time~ ^-^

Okay. blacksheep91's shiny new series:

<lj-embed id="15" />

I know I know, it's like, "A new anime staring Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, Jacob, and special guest star Tamaki Suou!" But I watched the first episode and I like it so far ^-^

<lj-embed id="16" />

This one's sooo fun, and great for October. Also just saw the first episode. I'm now hooked on the ending theme.

These are both fun little animes that pass the long hours where I have nothing to do at school. Watch them on crunchyroll please~

Still waiting for Special A to update, and the cliffie in La Corda Doro has me impatient for the new chapter.

Also.
Heeeeeey fairytale loving flist! Yeah you. All you Princess Tutu fans. I need a favor.

I know a lot of you guys like fairytales, so you've probably read many of them. What I need is some fairytale suggestions, preferably dark horror/scarieish ones. (Yes, this is for Halloween.)

What I need:
-A story about lovers; perhaps jilted lovers, whatever. Mildly scary.
-A generally scary one (the kind of stuff you tell your fiends around the camp fire. "He had a hook for a haaaaand!")Mildly to rather scary
-A love story that's more sad then scary. Lovers separated or something.(If it has more of a bittersweet ending, I don't mind.)Barely scary.
-A story about...plants. (Yeeeah don't ask.)Eh, I'll be surprised if you even find one o_o

I know you guys want to help me out.*puppy eyes* Come on, yuliee? serika_san? 0_lostinabook_0? True, she had taken entirely too long to answer for his comfort, but she had eventually said yes.

But the greatest shock, the one that had left him actually feeling light-headed, had to be when the town doctor had announced that Ahiru was... with child.

Fakir had been flabbergasted. He had known once she was human again that they would be physically compatible, but children? He had been so focused on Ahiru, finding a way to turn her back, and just planning their life together. The thought of having a family, a real family, had never crossed his mind.

Fakir had consequently bolted for the library upon hearing the news, after they had roused him from blacking out -- because he did not faint, despite what Author may have said happened. He held himself up in his room for three odd days with various books, in the hope they would explain the strange turn of events.

Predictably, he had been rather unsuccessful.

Ahiru, meanwhile, had taken the news better than he had. He chalked it up to the fact that, being a bird, she had probably already known about her condition for some time. She later told him that she had had a feeling wash over her, like a warm wave, and had subconsciously known there was something profoundly different.

Since her hunch was confirmed, and the surprise had worn off, Ahiru seemed to snap into maternal mode. Fakir had come home one day to find her arranging blankets and pillows into a circular mass in the corner of their room. He’d had an unpleasant jolt when he realized she was constructing a makeshift nest, but supposed it was better that she was using bed sheets rather than gathering twigs or reeds from the lake. (Karon eventually presented them with a crib he had built himself, which solved the problem.)

After eight months of her eating nearly everything placed in front of her and growing so huge, Fakir was amazed her thin body hadn’t snapped from effort to move, the day had finally come.

Fakir had needed to stay at work later than usual, so he had missed the first few hours of labor. He arrived... only to have Raetsel barring his way.

When he tried to get through, she’d stated rather firmly that there was no place for men in such a delicate situation, particularly the husband. When he'd questioned her as to why, she only muttered something about Ahiru saying things she may later regret, which hadn’t made any sense to him. Raetsel then physically turned him away, forcing him to wait in the designated “Man’s Corner” -- which was not a corner at all, but the sitting room -- with the other “useless bystanders”.

Fakir had tried to keep his mind occupied, taking up the ritualistic pacing of the floor, but he was overcome with worry. Would Ahiru be all right? Would his child be born safely? Why wasn’t he allowed to be with her during such an important moment in their lives?

Autor had done little to calm his jangled nerves. “I’m sure it will all be fine," he began.

But then he made the mistake to continue.

"Do you suppose she’ll have a natural birth? Oh! Or perhaps she’ll lay eggs?”

Punching the Drosselmeyer enthusiast had relieved some tension.

Luckily, the birth was successful, and Ahiru lived through it without too much damage to herself. However, the end results had been startling -- it was evident that some of Ahiru’s birdlike tendencies had won out.

Indeed, she had given birth to not one, but five children; three boys and two girls, all with rich red hair and wide, deep blue eyes.

The revealing was an interesting sight to behold: The new father, blinking down at the little bundles in disbelief, his wife standing sheepishly next to him, while an over-enthusiastic blonde shrieked with joy in the background.

“It’s even better then I ever anticipated! And they’ll cause such trouble for them! They’ll probably keep them up all hours of the night, screaming and crying and fighting and breaking priceless family heirlooms and then one will catch some sort of incurable disease and perhaps die~!”

~Owari~

(Author's estimate: Three people will read this, and not comment :D)

Title/Theme: Summer
Series: Princess Tutu
Rating: PG
Word count: 1,583
Summary: "Somehow, he’d ended up at the lake."
Finished: May 22, 2008. 8:19 p.m.
Disclaimer: This is a fan-made story for nonprofit use. Princess Tutu is the property of Ito Ikuko, animation studio Hal Film Maker, and ADV films.

(Note: I haven't the faintest idea where this came from. it just wafted in and was written. Ah well.
Warning, weird ass ending. I tell you, my muse was clearly off in it's own little world with this one.)

Somehow, he’d ended up at the lake.

Fakir stood motionless, staring at it. Only a short while ago, he would spend every afternoon here; sitting on the dock, idly scribbling on a piece of parchment while Ahiru paddled around his ankles, occasionally peering up at him with a bright hopeful gaze.

But lately, with the duck-girl human again, there’d no longer been a reason to visit. (Why do it, after all, if he could now see her everyday at the academy?)

The water lapped gently against the shore, slowly tugging in, and then pushing away thin reed leaves, both welcoming and rejecting at the same time.

He really didn’t know what possessed him to do it. The warm breeze prodding insistently at the back of his legs, the calming twitter of unseen birds, or the sun glowing warmly on the water’s surface. Whatever the reason, he decided to dive into the water.

Unceremoniously discarding his shirt, jacket, and shoes, he plunged into the lake, vaguely surprised at the water’s warmth. After paddling for a moment or two, he stretched out onto his back, eyes fixed on the clear blue-sky overhead.
Small waves rocked him, tall seaweed brushing his fingertips. He mused one how the scenery had changed since the last time he’d taken a swim. Back then, the small body of water had been coated with fog, the tall trees had given off sinister shadows, the waters a bleak, inky gray. He had been driven into its depths by fear and panic rather than curiosity.
A few birds soared overhead. None of them ravens.

Fakir lay floating for quite some time, before a call form the shore caught his attention. He turned his head, (as best he could without getting water in his eyes) to see what appeared to be a splotch of vibrant color waving from the bank. The splotch snapped into focus, reviling very subject of his meditation. Seeing that his head shift towards her, the thin girl paused, meeting his gaze with her own concerned expression. He righted himself, kicking on the spot for a minute or two, before gesturing for the redhead to join him. (After all, it was her lake, really. She had more of a right to enjoy it.)

Ahiru looked puzzled at this, and only after he singled her again, did she almost reluctantly begin undressing. He watched her lazily, waiting until she’d stripped off her uniform. Finished, she looked up, blushing, before hastily running into the water, perhaps to hide her unguarded form from his gaze.
She swam toward him with surprising speed. But then again, Fakir didn’t know why he found it surprising; she was a duck after all. She reached him in a matter of seconds, treading water just in front of him.

He paused then, before moving to her side. Reaching out, he nudging the center of her back until, with a small yelp of confusion, she’d tilted herself to lie on his hands, floating on the water’s surface just as he had been moments before. She shifted uncomfortably, her eyes darting from him, to the sky, and then back again.
Fakir was immediately overcome by how truly small and thin she was, how helpless she could look, floating there one the dark waves. His grip on her back tightened.

…

A while later, Fakir was out of the lake splayed out on the thick grass that carpeted it’s bank. His eyes were once more trained on the sky, where clouds had begun to lazily drift across.
Ahiru sat on her knees next to him; running fingers through the thick, damp mass of her hair, no longer bound in the long braid she had used to wind it in nearly a year earlier. Fakir still couldn’t decide whether or not he liked the change.

She paused, shifting her waist to face him.

“Fakir? What are you thinking about?”

His green eyes met her large blue ones. Blue like the lake water, and just as deep.

He blinked at her question. “Nothing.”

Her brow furrowed with noticeable concern.

“Is there something wrong?”

“No. Why?”

She bit her lip. “Well-I mean, it’s just…you’re so quiet and…you don’t usually lie around…like this.” She gestured briefly, glanced at his chest, before meeting his eyes again. His shirt and jacket hung from a nearby tree, for he had yet to retrieve them. Oddly, he felt at ease resting there on the ground, half dressed. Usually he wasn’t keen on being exposed in such a way in front of other people, but today he felt...different. Besides, he was only here with Ahiru, and she was…
What was she?
The girl in question was staring at his chest again, her eyes tracing the dark, jagged lines that ran from his left shoulder to his navel. She caught him watching her, and a blush splashed across her cheeks. She tore her eyes away from him, fixing on a point far out over the water.

“Sorry.”

He paused. “It’s okay.” If it’s you, it’s okay.

She squirmed under his gaze, her face turning an even deeper shade of red. “Uh-Umm…are you sure you’re okay?” her fingers pulled at the edge of her undershirt.

Fakir was studying her. Like him, Ahiru had yet to redress since their impromptu swim. Her clothes rested to her right, gathered in a messy pile. Her white cotton panties and undershirt clung slightly to her lithe form, still damp with lake water. The clothing hugged newly forming curves and the soft mounds that now rested on her chest, alerting him to the reality that she was, in fact, becoming a woman. She still had a ways to go, but all the same.
Ahiru was changing before his eyes. Soon she would be grown; old enough to set out on her own, find a home, marry, and raise a family, like any normal girl would.

He felt his back tense slightly at these new thoughts, and frowned at the clear blue ocean above him. He reached out, his fingers finding and wrapping around her wrist, and tugged her closer to him. She started at the action, before letting him pull her down to lie at his side, resting her head awkwardly on his shoulder. He felt like he wanted to say something, but he couldn’t think of how to put it into words.

She pointed up, suddenly, at a cloud just overhead. “Ah, look Fakir! It’s a rose!” she sounded ecstatic with her discovery.
The boy found the cloud, half smiling in spite of himself. She sounded so happy about such a simple thing as finding shapes in clouds. The half smile became a full smile; it seemed Ahiru would always be Ahiru, no matter how much time went by. His body relaxed.

“And, oh, there’s a ballerina!”
“That’s a sail boat, moron.”

“Is not! It’s a ballerina! Look, there’s the edge of her tutu, her spread legs, that’s her long hair flowing out behind, her-“

…

Ahiru was the last one to leave the changing room. She was wrestling with her newly earned toe shoes, whose ribbon had knotted itself rather tightly around her leg. She knew she should have been paying more attention whilst tying them, but she’d been preoccupied, watching the advanced class’s practice from across the room. (And more particularly, their male lead.)
She’d been worried about him lately; he’d become so distant, even to her, and seemed to be spending more and more time practicing in the dance studio. Then there’d been the other day at the lake. He’d just lain there, staring at the sky, barely saying two words to her. Was he angry about something? Was he upset with her? Had she done something to make him act this way?

She groaned, worry over the older boy mixed with frustration the unyielding ribbon that only appeared to have gotten even more tangled. She hadn’t noticed the door to the room opening, or the footsteps making their way toward her.

“Oi.”

“Gah!” she jumped, her eyes flying up to meet the face of the intruder.

Ah. Speak of the devil. The moody ex-knight stood before her- just changed himself- holding a small, white paper bag.
His gaze was fixed indifferently on her feet. “Problem?”

She flared, her cheek puffing up. “No! I’m just fine, thank you very much.” Then after a beat, “and what are you doing in here?! This is a girl’s locker room.”

He scoffed, looking away. “You’re the only one in here, I don’t see how it’s an issue.”

She glared at this, about to offer a retort, when he suddenly stretched out his arm, offering the small handled bag to her.

“Here.”
She blinked, before slowly accepting it.

“You’ll be needing those.” He stated impassively. The redhead continued to stare at him. Without looking at her, the dark boy turned on his heal, making his way to the exit. At the doorway, he paused.

“I could see just about everything.” The door clicked close behind him.

She watched his departure, still bewildered, before directing her attention once more to the bag. Slowly, she reached out, pulling out a mass of white tissue paper and peering in.
Upon seeing the bags contents, the color drained from her face, before contorting into and expression of deep anger and embarrassment.

“That not funny Fakir!” she cried, her words echoing around the empty room.
Her twitching fingers clutched the strap of the top most item, a white cotton bra. She glared down at the offending object.

“…pervert.” She muttered.

(As said, WTF?)

Princess Tutu is the property of Ito Ikuko, animation studio Hal Film Maker, and ADV films.

It was maddening.

Carlos stared, transfixed on the couple on the other end of the lawn; huddled close, moon-eyed, enjoying the lunch she had prepared.

It hadn’t been his fault. The incidents within the school (hell, the whole town) had made him a bit on edge lately.

They’d been fighting more often, either it about his near obsessive focus on his studies (Alejandra-sensei had been piling on the work, perhaps trying to outdo Warthog-sensei after last semester’s performance), or about her fascination with the mass proclaimed “prince” of the dance division. (To be fair, she was not the only on who nursed a crush on him, but he’d still entrusted Gilbert to make sure nothing became of it.)

The tension had finally reached its peek when she had announced her leaving him for William.

He had been beside himself with rage. William, of all people, to steal her from him.

And there they were, now, rubbing it in his face. It made his blood boil.

Across from him, Gilbert looked up from his sandwich, his one cocked eye drifting slightly to the left. He frowned.

“Don’t let it bother you, Carlos, she wasn’t worth it anyway.” He took another bite, grunting when the jam dripping form the edges stained his sleeves. He attempted to roll them up without setting his sandwich down, but only succeeded in smearing on more of the gooey substance.

He glowered at Gilbert. “Don’t try to make me feel better. No matter what you say, I’ll still have this burning hurt and anger in my heart. It’s not going away anytime soon.”

Michael, on Gilbert’s other side, piped in optimistically.

“Yeah, well, Tara’s not the only fish in the sea. You could take your pick from anyone else, you know, show her you’ve moved on. Maybe you could ask Sue! Oh, wait, come to think of it, Ricardo’s been after her recently….”

If by “after” Michael meant, “molesting”, then yes indeed, he had.

“Ah! What about Foniqua?”

He sat, stone-faced, as the boy continued to list off various girls from the school's different classes.

Ladry, to Carlos’s right, was poking his spoon dejectedly into his peach fruit cup. He mumbled to himself, dolefully.

“I so wanted berries and cream.”
…

Perhaps trying to solve the problem with a gun had been a hasty decision.

Granted, it wasn’t a real gun (not that he’d known at the time, bloody school prop department), but he’d been brought to the very brink of his senses.

Carlos hadn’t totally planed how to carry out the deed. After attaining the weapon and hiding it within his blue uniform jacket, he’d merely set out, stalking the ground in search of the traitorous duo.

He’d found them amongst a quickly gathering group of students between the two dance buildings. They were watching what appeared to be three students from the ballet division, two upperclassmen and a shorter girl with flaming red hair, who were having some sort of an argument.

With the prime distraction, he couldn’t hold himself back.

His attack didn’t call too much attention. The fight in the center of the group had turned physical with the addition of the school’s “prince”. The injury of the fair-haired boy stirred up quite the commotion, all of the surrounding students emitting gasps of shock and outrage.

In the end, he only got a few days detention for the attempted murder. (Which mainly consisted of him trying to club William with the gun’s handle after realizing the bullets didn’t work.)
He had to take time off of class(for counseling), as well as write a letter of apology to both Tara and William for misconduct.

He'd gotten off pretty well compared to the ballet student who had caused the uproar.

Apparently, in Kinkan Academy, pushing someone out of a window gets you a warning, but bitch-slapping them in the middle of the courtyard calls for suspension.
